The Department of Agriculture is recalling approximately 2,900 pounds of Assoluti Cooked Diced Bacon products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, the Food and Safety Inspection Service announced Friday.

Routine testing of a sample of cooked diced bacon from Jethro Cash and Carry Enterprises LLC/R.D. Food Services LP resulted positive for the bacteria. The sample was taken from Canada but the Canadian Food Inspection Agency notified the department the product had been shipped to the United States as well.

The Assoluti Cooked Diced Bacon has a case code of 1173, bears the Canadian mark of inspection and a certification number of 406515, 406516, and 406562. The products were shipped to distribution centers in Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and Michigan.

Neither the department, nor the company have received no reports of illness associated with consumption of these products.
