According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, from 1973 to 2005, there were 19,968 outbreaks of foodborne illness associated with pasteurized milk and pasteurized dairy products. The largest single outbreak was in 1985 with 16,659 outbreaks associated with pasteurized milk. Not to mention the four deaths that occurred in Massachussetts in the fall of 2007.

Or put another way, more people get sick and die from consuming dead pasteurized milk than they do from consuming life giving unpasteurized milk.
