When I was in biology class 60 years ago I grew some bacteria in petri dishes by placing objects like coins, human hair, or other common items. They grew little white bundles of bacteria.

I saw similar bundles on a cheese that came from an organic food chain, imported from Spain with sheep's milk. Because of Mexican food scares I will throw away this cheese -- better to be out $8 than sick.

Still, I wonder what the listeria or other tainted cheeses look like. Isn't cheese supposed to be MOLDY? Isn't blue cheese -- moldy cheese? Are there any tests or guidelines about suspicious cheese e coli or whatever?
